I confess that I cheated, it is the same person. But I wanted to introduce her to you.

Meet Frances Clayton
She disguised herself as a man and took the name Jack Williams in order to fight in the army. For several months, she served in Missouri artillery and cavalry corps.

  2. oh i have so much to say i do not know where to start! well, first: the hair art is glorious, they are quite a pair! i love the coloring. and the funny thing is your lady and doggo could also be twins! as to the twins piece: what a fascinating piece of history. there are many stories of women living as men back in the day, to have more freedom, autonomy, in some cases to be more fully themselves. your twins piece is simply profound. the coloring in both is also gorgeous and well conceived. i love it all. xo
