    Sim,

You asked about art journals. They are a sort of visual diary. Artists buy (or make by hand) books of blank pages, which they fill with bits of art, favorite quotes or poetry, comments about their daily lives, and so on. They are very individual, and vary a great deal from individual to individual. I have sent a URL at the top of this note, which should give you a bit of information. A Google search will show you some examples as well.

I have been keeping my journals for several years. The pages include bits of art and notes about my day to day activities, some of my poetry, some found poetry. I experiment with art styles, and in general just express myself in an artistic way. I hope this information is helpful to you!

  8. Wow, Sim, your silhouette collage almost leaps off the screen .. you have created a wonderful sense of movement, vigour and verve. And I love the crispness of the black and white too.

  9. Now this is an absolutely beautiful silhouette page with a great sense of joy and movement, daring and expertise, and an unusual way to use silhouettes. The figures leaping over the cows make me think of the Bull leapers in stories of Ancient Minoan Crete. I like the background which links so well to the cattle, because I see it as the patterns on the coats of Hereford cows. Lovely, I'm so glad I found this.
